A Dune Face Lift

I know, there is not much snow here. If fact...none. But this little sequence was too good not to put in. This is me back in the eighties think I was the coolest thing since sliced bread. Our family vacation took us to Florence, Oregon, on the coast dunes. When we got there I unloaded the skis, hiked to the top of the first steep dune and clipped in. As I looked around I realized there were at least 100 Japanese tourists readying there cameras for what surely would be the greatest (or stupidist) feat they had ever seen a white man do. The nest shot didn't disappoint...

It doesn't get any better then this. I no sooner had started down the dune then I thought I would do a little stylin' pole plant turn. The results were disasterous. I hit that sand literally face first. All I could here was the roars of laughter from what seemed to be the entire Japanese nation. Evidently the good Lord thought I could use a little humbling. I hope you've enjoyed this little excerpt from my more stupid days.
